AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION OF CANADA

AIA Canada holds a "Consumer Car Day" at The National Assembly of Québec!

October 21, 2011 – On October 18th, AIA Canada and its Quebec Division organized a very successful “Consumer Car Day”. With an impressive number of aftermarket industry leaders from Québec in attendance, meetings were arranged with Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) at the National Assembly of Québec . This allowed AIA members to meet MNAs and to highlight issues that the association is involved with as well as identifying the many challenges consumers face regarding vehicle maintenance.

During the meetings, MNAs were made aware of Be Car Care Aware and its “Car Safety Month” campaign during the month of October. In addition to the Be Car Care Aware program, members also stressed the need for the Québec Government to adopt a regulation to ensure that when vehicles aged eight (8) years or older are resold that they are safe and that they comply with environmental legislation.

On October 26th, a similar event will take place in Ottawa at the Federal level. Key industry leaders of the automotive aftermarket industry will meet with Ministers and MPs throughout the course of the day and have the opportunity to continue discussions with more than 70 political figures, who will be in attendance at the "Cocktail Reception" that evening.
