AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION OF CANADA

Brandon Salutes Announces Donation to Project Hero Scholarships

The Manitoba division of the Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA) is proud to announce that it has donated $500 to each of the Project Hero scholarships at Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College.  The monies were presented to the post-secondary institutions today.

Each year, AIA’s Manitoba Division holds a golf tournament to raise funds to support various causes. In September of 2011, the AIA held its annual golf tournament in Winnipeg.

PROJECT HERO, which was started in 2009 by General (Ret) Rick Hillier and Honorary Lt. Colonel Kevin Reed, is a unique program which provides undergraduate scholarships to children of fallen soldiers. Brandon University and Assiniboine Community College in Brandon both offer scholarships that are part of PROJECT HERO.
