Government of Ontario Releases 2012-2013 Fiscal Budget
March 28th, 2012, Ottawa – The Liberal Government released its Budget yesterday outlining plans for spending restraint while protecting health care and education in Ontario. The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada is reviewing the Budget announcement for issues that will or may affect the automotive aftermarket industry. Among the areas AIA will be closely following in the Budget will be items related environment, transportation, trade, health care, job creation and support for Small-to-Medium size Enterprises (SMEs). As part of the today’s Budget, the Government of Ontario specifically outlined measures to strengthen Ontario’s apprenticeship system.
AIA has a proven track record in successful partnerships with government, an ability to support government with an extensive network in every community across Canada and the ability to leverage resources with strong industry participation and support. AIA, on behalf of its members, will be identifying opportunities within the Budget over the coming days where the automotive aftermarket industry can assist the Province of Ontario in achieving its economic, environmental and health objectives for Ontarians.
