AIA Canada Holds Committee Council Day & 70th Annual General Meeting
May 1st, 2012, Ottawa – The Automotive Industries Association held its annual Committee & Council Day on April 26th, 2012. AIA member volunteers congregated at the Hilton Toronto Airport & Suites to take part in various meetings and to attend a special Volunteer Luncheon as well as the Association’s 70th Annual General Meeting.
During the Volunteer Luncheon, AIA Canada’s incoming Chairman of the Board of Directors, John Macdonald, awarded Linda Donnini with the Young Executive of the Year Award and current AIA Chairman Mauro Cifelli thanked the hundreds of volunteer members from across the country who sit on AIA committees, councils, divisions and task forces. He also took the opportunity to recognize the AIA directors who are completing their terms on the Board of Directors. They are as follows:
• Denis Mathieu, Uni-Select • Bob Sinclair, Dixie Electric • Greg Sims, OK Tire • Brad Morris, Grote Industries (who has completed his term on the Executive Committee)
Mr. Cifelli provided his sincere thanks to these individuals for providing their expertise and knowledge in the past year and committing their time to the Association. AIA also recognized that it could not exist nor have the ongoing success it has had over the past 70 years without the continued support of its members. At the luncheon, AIA also recognized longstanding members who have reached a significant membership milestone and took the opportunity to recognize the members in attendance including Grant Brothers Sales, who are celebrating 50 years of membership with AIA this year.
