June 8th, 2012 Toronto – The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada congratulates MPP Donna Cansfield on her new role as parliamentary assistant to the Ontario Minister of Finance, Dwight Duncan.

“MPP Cansfield has and will continue to play a critical role in the McGuinty government,” said Marc Brazeau, President, AIA Canada. “As parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Finance, she will be a tremendous asset in strengthening the economy and creating jobs.”

Donna Cansfield was elected as MPP for Etobicoke Centre in 2003 after serving constituents as a school trustee for 15 years. Previously, Cansfield was the parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Economic Development and Innovation.

About AIA Canada
AIA is a national trade association representing the automotive aftermarket industry in Canada. The aftermarket is a $18.49 billion industry that employs more than 420,200 people. The industry is composed of companies that manufacture, distribute and install automotive replacement parts, accessories, tools, and equipment.

To educate Canadians on the economic, environmental and safety benefits of regular vehicle maintenance, AIA launched Be Car Care Aware (BCCA); a consumer education campaign to build awareness and knowledge to prepare consumers to make sensible decisions about their vehicles. The program is built around three key message areas of dependability and safety, protecting the environment and enhancing and maintaining vehicle value.
