Underperformed Maintenance - Tomorrow's Profit Center Wm. "Mac" McGovern, Director of Training and Marketing, KYB America LLC
Adapt or perish? They are referred to as service providers but most still act like they are repair shops. In an era of dwindling repair opportunities and fluctuating car counts, becoming pro active and selling the need and benefits of maintenance is essential. The aftermarket has an opportunity to help the service provider recognize their potential and become prepared to sell maintenance parts. Mac is going to help us understand their conditions, needs and what it may take to help them develop the ability to create or regain maintenance market share. Mac's role with KYB America LLC is to develop and implement programs, training and marketing materials that help service providers sell shocks and struts. Mac owned an independent service center himself for 30 years. During that time, he became an AMI-accredited seminar instructor, served as an aftermarket program group national advisory board member and service center mentor, a distribution and vendor consultant and speaker, was president of a certified service center council and held positions with IL-ASA and AMRA.
