The goal of Car Care Month is to build awareness and knowledge to prepare consumers to make sensible decisions about their vehicles. Reversing unperformed maintenance will conserve energy, improve highway safety and benefit the environment.

Canadians Urged to Start Looking Down the Road
Grassroots initiative stresses preparation and highlights nasty behaviours/bad habits
With winter just a memory and millions of Canadians taking to the roads to enjoy the warmer weather, Be Car Care Aware is urging them to be prepared and anticipate vehicle maintenance and safety needs before they occur.
“Looking Down the Road”, a Be Car Care Aware consumer-education initiative starts May 2011 during National Car Care Month with a major focus on preventive maintenance. It continues throughout the year, culminating in October during National Car Safety Month.
Car Care Clinics
To celebrate Car Care Month, a series of Car Care Clinics hosted by Be Car Care Aware spokespersons will be held to give drivers an overview of proper vehicle maintenance. Locations of these clinics are available on the Be Car Care Aware Events Calendar.
Car Check Events
To raise awareness among consumers about the benefits of regular vehicle maintenance, car check events will be held to allow the local Jobbers, participating BCCA shops, and apprentices to take part in a grassroots initiative. Car Care Canada will also use the data collected at these events to help underscore the need for consumer education. Locations of these events are available on the Be Car Care Aware Events Calendar.
If you’d like to organize an event, please contact Kina Leclair by email, or by telephone at 1-800-808-2920 ext. 233.
