We are looking for an organized, experienced, and collaborative candidate to assist our Innovation in Automotive Training program team with the planning, building, and facilitating of two virtual training sessions on Zoom alongside our curriculum developer/meeting host. This is a part-time virtual position that will extend approximately six months.
The Innovation in Automotive Training program is an Employment Ontario program funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario. This initiative is designed to address two critical issues in Ontario’s auto care sector: a lack of automotive tradespeople and the requirement for them to be trained to handle modern vehicles, particularly electric vehicles (EVs).
Purpose of the position
Supporting our program team, the Digital Event Coordinator (Contract) role will be critical in facilitating two virtual training programs that aim to prepare the automotive industry for its growing workforce.
As a part of the Innovation in Automotive Training program team, you will offer your virtual event coordinating expertise and ensure these virtual training courses run smoothly and in-line with the expectations of the curriculum developer/ and host of the training.
Knowledge and experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in coordinating and hosting virtual events and meetings
- Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification or equivalent experience is an asset
- A strong background in coordinating online events
- A proficiency in coordinating Zoom events with breakout groups, Slido and other integrated platforms
- Experience working collaboratively on virtual event planning and prepping with a small team remotely
Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with our team and curriculum developer to build and prepare two virtual Zoom events
- Handle all aspects of mentoring events ensuring a seamless execution
- Manage the set-up and facilitation of both online events which include setting up and managing registration, managing multiple presenters during each session, pre-recorded videos during live sessions, breakout groups and other integrated interactive features such as polling, chat, and Q&A
- Manage technical rehearsals with the curriculum developer/host of the meeting.
- Manage event review and track event attendance, feedback, live chat and all other facets of the events facilitation
- Record meeting and send out follow up resources to attendants
- Work with other departments of AIA Canada (including Marketing and Communications, and Events) to ensure the success of training program.
- May be requested to undertake other projects and duties as required.
Contract hours: 40 hours total over a 6-week period starting in November, with the possibility of renewal for an additional 6-week period in January/February.
LUMP SUM rate: $1,200-$1,400, dependent upon experience.
