AIA Canada’s Quebec Division presents three Raymond Savard bursaries at the CETEMMM Gala Méritas
On June 3, nearly 70 students celebrated the culmination of their academic journey during the 39th edition of the Gala Méritas, hosted by the Comité Éducation Travail en Équipement Motorisé du Montréal Métropolitain (CETEMMM) at Le Pavillon Jacques-Cartier in Montréal’s Old Port.
This annual recognition honours the outstanding accomplishments of top graduates from Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) specializing in the automotive sector across greater Montréal. With close to 400 attendees, the event serves to inspire the next generation of industry professionals and promote vocational education—two key priorities for the auto care sector amid ongoing skills shortages and the challenges posed by technological advancements in the industry.
Patrick Saint-Pierre presented three students with Raymond Savard bursaries of $500 each, on behalf of the AIA Canada Quebec Division. Several members of the AIA Canada Quebec Division were also present.
A heartfelt thank you to Élisabeth Lambert, Alexandre Lajeunesse, Patrick Saint-Pierre, Jean Falcon, and Mario Comtois for showing your support to the next generation of auto care professionals.

The 27 honoured students were selected from eight VTCs and were chosen by instructors in mechanical and collision repair programs. The recipients were recognized based on the following criteria: attendance; punctuality; academic performance; interpersonal skills; perseverance; and work ethic.
The VTC members of the CETEMMM group are:
- Centre Daniel-Johnson
- Centre de formation compétence Rive-Sud
- Centre de formation professionnelle de Verdun
- Centre de formation professionnelle Laurier Macdonald
- École des métiers de l’équipement motorisé de Montréal
- École des métiers spécialisés de Laval
- Nova Career Centre
- West Island Career Centre
