Young Professionals in the Aftermarket Committee

Mission and mandate

The mission of the Young Professionals in the Aftermarket (YPA) Committee is to act as the voice and the resource for young professionals in the auto care sector. The mandate is to provide members with a forum to express their views and recommendations on the current industry issues and to ensure its future growth and prosperity.

The YPA Committee also provides a networking and mentoring environment for employees in the auto care industry to enhance and develop their executive skills so that they may grow into stronger leaders in the industry.

Who we are

The YPA Committee is composed of representatives from AIA Canada member companies plus a Chair. Representation must include members from the collision sector, major retailer, supplier, warehouse distributor, and wholesaler/jobber categories of memberships.

The position of Chair shall be for a two-year term. As with other AIA Canada councils and committees, the YPA Committee Chair will be appointed (based on the recommendations and structure of the society) by the AIA Canada Chairman, and will become effective at the Annual General Meeting of the Association.

The YPA Committee will meet a minimum of two times a year in person, with additional meetings via conference call.

Sub-committees will be formed to address the variety of YPA Committee initiatives and move them forward on a timely basis.

AIA Canada will designate a staff member as a liaison to the YPA Committee to assist with meeting organization, minutes, etc.

YPA Committee activities must be self-funded.

Join the Young Professionals in the Aftermarket Committee

AIA Canada and the YPA Committee will ensure that members reflect the diversity of the aftermarket workforce and will be inclusive of genders and cultures.

Membership in the YPA Committee will be open to young executives (executives or managers) from AIA Canada member companies, including those being on-track for senior positions within their companies.

For the purposes of the YPA Committee, young executives will be people 45 years of age or younger. YPA Committee participants will be asked to complete a profile sheet to provide background on their career path and possible future goals.
