POSITION TYPE:
This is a fully remote role based in Ontario, with occasional travel for in-person events.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Manager, Events and Programs leads the planning and delivery of AIA Canada’s events, ensuring they reflect our strategic goals and deliver value to members and stakeholders. From concept to execution, you will create engaging experiences that strengthen our community, support our advocacy efforts, and elevate the collision and mechanical sectors. This role blends creativity, collaboration, and operational excellence to bring our vision to life through every event.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategically lead and execute AIA Canada’s national event portfolio—from concept to completion—securing high-impact speakers, fostering engagement, creativity and delivering exceptional member experiences.
- Manage event budgets, track costs, and ensure financial accuracy, communicating any concerns to senior leadership.
- Leverage attendee feedback and performance data to continuously improve event strategies and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to identify and employ effective strategies and tactics to increase event visibility, sponsorships, and engage members.
- Maintain and strengthen existing and develop stakeholder relationships, ensuring a positive experience.
- Lead, mentor, and support the events team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Set clear goals, provide ongoing feedback, and ensure team alignment with AIA Canada’s strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations.
- Support staff event planning, including holiday receptions, staff meetings, etc.
- Other related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- College/University degree in a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years’ work-related experience with some management experience.
- Experience in event management and planning, program management, and budget management, preferably within a not-for-profit environment.
- Proven ability in contract and vendor negotiation/management.
- Possess organizational skills and flexibility to plan, initiate, organize and prioritize own work, manage multiple projects and team members and deal effectively with multiple deadlines.
- Aptitude for working in collaborative team environments with a focus on proactive communication and relationship building.
- Experience working with modern event-driven software and tools.
- Knowledge of or experience with the automotive collision sector or in a member-based not-for-profit association is an asset.
- Bilingualism (Canadian French and English) is an asset.

Salary: $71,000
