The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) is the voice and resource that leads Canada’s auto care sector. With thousands of members from coast to coast, their vision, research, training programs and advocacy supports Canada’s collision, aftermarket, and mechanical sectors. Their best practices for the auto care industry help members keep Canada’s fleet of almost 26.6 million vehicles on the road.
As the President & CEO, you will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the long-term leadership of AIA. You will play an active role in sustaining a positive public awareness of the auto care industry, recommend strategic direction to the Board, and safeguard lasting and constructive relationships with government, industry, and a variety of member groups. You will oversee AIA’s staff and ensure the continued high quality of service and benefits that AIA provides to all its members. As the face of the organization, this will be your opportunity to truly represent AIA’s brand and mandates to be a trusted automotive industry partner.
As a well-qualified candidate, you are an entrepreneurial, strategic and solutions-oriented leader, known for your action-oriented style, and strong interpersonal skills. You are an inclusive and supportive leader, with a track record of building consensus and encouraging collaboration across multiple interests. You ideally have experience in managing a P&L and business operations.
As the President & CEO, you will ensure AIA is positioned to thrive by way of diverse revenue streams and strengthened member programs, particularly I-CAR Canada. You will engage with, and seek to support, all types of members ensuring fair and equal representation of all groups. Ideally, you possess leadership experience within a national not-for-profit association or within the auto care industry and have experience leading successful member programs and ideating diverse revenue sources.
The ideal candidate should reside within the Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto corridor. Bilingualism in English and French is a significant asset.
