John Maslack to be honoured with prestigious AIA Distinguished Service Award

May 8, 2017 – On May 16th, members of the Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada will have the opportunity to honour Picture of John Maslackindustry leader John Maslack, recipient of this year’s prestigious AIA Distinguished Service Award.

The Distinguished Service Award will be presented to John Maslack immediately following AIA’s 75th Annual General Meeting at the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon taking place at the Hilton Meadowvale Hotel.

John Maslack is the founder and president of Maslack Supply, a company that was built on the foundation of ensuring that the customer is the most important person in your business. Through John’s leadership and innovative business thinking over the years, Maslack Supply has provided a gateway to Northern Ontario for parts manufacturers to distribute automotive, collision, heavy duty and industrial replacement parts to remote end users since 1959.

Since opening his first location, John Maslack has now grown his business to twelve locations and a staff of over 200 people. In addition to these locations, Maslack recently opened a new state of the art training centre in Sudbury, Ontario to accommodate their supply customers.

As a member of the North American buying group The Alliance (Auto Value), and as an AIA member for over 20 years, John and his team have been strong supporters of the association through the company’s sponsorship of and attendance at numerous AIA events throughout Canada.

John Maslack is a true leader not only in business but also as an avid community supporter. He pioneered the Sudbury Memorial Hospital Foundation and served on the Sudbury Memorial Hospital Board of Governors. The recipient of numerous honours and awards, he has been recognized with Sudbury’s Sports Celebrity Hall of Fame award in recognition of his support of local youth teams; the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition for being an outstanding contributor to improving the community and quality of life; the 2012 Bell Business Excellence Award; and the Jobber of the Year Award in 1994-95.

About the Distinguished Service Award

The AIA Distinguished Service Award is presented in recognition of distinguished service and outstanding leadership given to the growth and development of Canada’s automotive aftermarket industry. It is the highest award presented by the Automotive Industries Association of Canada to an outstanding individual within the Association membership. Criteria for the award include outstanding leadership, community service, and personal contribution to the growth and progress of the aftermarket industry.
