AIA Canada Day: A presence across Quebec
Since 2022, the Quebec Division of AIA Canada has been organizing AIA Canada Day annually. This event aims to build connections between students from vocational training centres (CFPs), the Association, and professionals in the auto care industry. This provincial initiative is part of a collaborative approach designed to inform, inspire, and raise awareness among participants about employment opportunities, while highlighting the key elements needed to build a sustainable and successful career within the sector.
Building on the success of the previous edition, the Quebec Division of AIA Canada held the fifth edition of AIA Day from February 9 to 20. The event brought together teachers, members of the Quebec Division, and industry professionals.
This year, AIA Day reached students from 15 vocational training centres across the province. Participating institutions included Centre Access Career, CFP CIMIC, CFP Compétence Rive-Sud, CFP de Lévis, CFP de Portneuf, CFP des Monts-et-Marées, CFP des Portages-de-l’Outaouais, CFP Nova, CFP Pavillon de l’Argile, CFP Rimouski-Neigette, CFP Verdun, CFP Wilbrod-Bherer, École des métiers en équipement motorisé de Montréal, École des métiers spécialisés de Laval, and West Island Career Centre.
A total of 25 scholarships, valued at $500 each, were awarded to students from the participating schools. These scholarships were granted to deserving students based on criteria such as perseverance, resilience, and academic performance. Presented under the name Raymond Savard Scholarship, this initiative—carried out in collaboration with the AIA High Fives for Kids Foundation—provided a total of $12,500 to support young people.
AIA Canada is proud to inspire students to explore the auto care industry while showing them how to build successful, unique, and rewarding careers. This year, we are pleased to announce that this initiative introduced nearly 1,700 students to career opportunities within the industry.
Thank you to all participants and see you next year!
