AIA Canada Day in Quebec inspires and teaches students about the industry
Since 2022, AIA Canada’s Quebec Division has held an annual AIA Canada Day to connect students at Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) to the Association and auto care sector professionals, and to teach, inspire, and inform them about the industry, job opportunities, and how to create a successful career.
Going off the success of last year’s event, the AIA Canada Quebec Division held its third AIA Canada Day on February 20th, 2024. With the involvement of teachers, members of the Quebec Division, and industry professionals, 10 VTCs were visited across the province that day.
Schools that participated this year include CFP Nova, CFP Pavillon de l’Argile, École des métiers spécialisés de Laval, École des métiers en équipement motorisé de Montréal, West Island Career Centre, CFP Verdun, CFP Compétence Rive-Sud, CFP de Portneuf, CFP Rimouski-Neigette, and CFP de Coaticook.
One student from every school was awarded a $500 scholarship based on perseverance, resilience, and academic performance. This scholarship is presented on behalf of the Raymond Savard Scholarship in collaboration AIA Canada’s High Fives for Kids Foundation, totaling $5000.
AIA Canada is proud to inspire students about the auto care sector and teach them how they can create successful, unique, and fulfilling career experiences. Last year, 800 students attended the event; this year, we are excited to say that approximately 1,000 students attended.
Until next year!
