AIA Canada joins CMC call to support Canadian manufacturing

In a press release issued on March 16, 2023, ahead of the 2023 Federal Budget announcement, members of the Canadian Manufacturing Coalition (CMC) called on the federal government to support the Canadian manufacturing industry with measures to help attract and train workers, support investment and speed up industry’s transition to net-zero production.

The CMC is a coalition of associations, including AIA Canada, that represent different sectors in the Canadian manufacturing industry.

The CMC outlined four priorities that the upcoming budget should address. These are:

Support industry by attracting the workers and skills it needs through increased and targeted immigration and enhanced training supports.
Drive innovation, investment and the adoption of advanced technologies and automation.
Increase domestic manufacturing production and exports.
Help manufacturers adapt to and advance Canada’s climate change plan.
