AIA Canada to release a 2020 Outlook Study, produced by EY Canada

October 20, 2020

Ottawa, Ontario, October 20, 2020 The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) is pleased to announce the release of the 2020 Outlook Study. Published every two years, the report provides an in-depth examination of the state of the Canadian automotive aftermarket, and presents an analysis focused on forecasts and trends that will likely impact the industry in the future.

New for the 2020 Outlook Study, AIA Canada has engaged Ernst & Young LLP (EY Canada) to produce the report. EY Canada brings sector and economic forecasting experience on both a local and global scale.

The Association is also updating the Outlook Study to reflect the new realities of the industry. The report sheds light on unforeseen disruptors like the COVID-19 pandemic, new technologies, emerging markets, and changing consumer preferences. The report will boast a concise presentation, and a visualization tool will be available to readers, offering market intelligence for businesses operating in the Canadian aftermarket industry.

“We are listening to our members,” says Jean François-Champagne, President of AIA Canada. “For over two decades now, our Outlook Study has provided the industry with the strategic knowledge necessary to be successful in an ever-changing automotive aftermarket. Just as the aftermarket has changed in those two decades, so have our members’ expectations, so it was time we reassessed our approach to the report. EY Canada is a natural fit to achieve this goal, thanks to their deep knowledge in the automotive industry and their ability to gather relevant data and present it in a way that is meaningful to our members.”

“Urbanization, changing consumer expectations and emerging digital technologies are driving a wave of disruptive innovation in the automotive market,” says John Barrett, Partner in EY Canada’s Restructuring practice. “We’re happy to work with AIA Canada to imagine the profound changes coming to the industry and identify the steps business leaders need to build into their future business operations. The changes might seem challenging, but a deep understanding of the changing industry dynamics will help leaders cope with whatever disruption and complexity comes their way, while staying two steps ahead of their competitors.”

The 2020 Outlook Study looks at the industry through a holistic lens, outlining year-over-year trends that will clearly show how the industry will be shaped in the coming years. Having access to solid industry data and reliable forecasts about where the market is headed can make all the difference in a business’s success. The newly designed 2020 Outlook Study is a great read for anyone in the aftermarket industry.

AIA Canada members can receive the Outlook Study at no cost by visiting AIA Canada’s publication section of the website on October 21, when the report will be available.
