Another successful apprenticeship fair for the AIA Canada Quebec Division
Aftermarket employers had the chance to meet graduating automotive technician students at the second apprenticeship fair held by the Automotive Industries Association of Canada’s (AIA Canada) Quebec Division. The event took place on March 18, at the École des métiers en équipement motorisé in Montréal.
The goal of the fair was to build awareness of the automotive aftermarket industry with the 26 graduates and to put them in contact with shop owners and managers from the Montreal area who are looking to fill job vacancies. Bestbuy Distribution, Canadian Tire, Del Vasto Group and Groupe Monaco were present for the event.
Patrick Saint-Pierre, president of the AIA Canada Quebec division organized the event, along with Dominique Bousquet, division vice-president; Jimmy Caise, consulting officer; and Roger Gagnon and Alain Tremblay, automotive technology instructors.
The day began with a group session where shop owners spoke with the graduates about their businesses and needs. Later in the day, there was an opportunity for one-on-one meetings. The shop owners left the event feeling confident that they would be able to fill their job vacancies.
