Quebec Division tours VTCs on AIA Canada Day
In 2022, the AIA Canada Quebec Division committee took the initiative to relaunch the internship fair activities at vocational training centers (VTCs) as part of their file on succession. The “AIA Canada Day” event was created with the objective of introducing AIA Canada and the maintenance and repair market to automotive mechanic and collision repair students at vocational training centers (VTCs), in order to inform them about the industry and the excellent career opportunities that are available to them.
Proud of the success of the first experience, the Quebec Division held a second “AIA Canada Day” on January 18, 2023. With the collaboration of several teachers and officials, the members of the Quebec Division visited seven VTCs simultaneously. The schools that participated were École des métiers de l’équipement motorisé de Montréal (ÉMÉMM), CFP Verdun, CFP Nova, CFP Pavillon de l’Argile, École des métiers spécialisés de Laval, West Island Career Center and École des métiers spécialisés de La Prairie. While 430 students attended the first “AIA Canada Day”, this second event reached a grand total of 800 students.
