The Automotive Industries Association of Canada announces improvements to its collision sector support

September 22, 2022

Ottawa, ON, September 22, 2022 – The Automotive Industries Association of Canada (AIA Canada) is pleased to announce changes to its supports to the collision repair sector.

The creation of a new Collision Repairer’s Council (CRC) will give a clear and specific voice to the concerns of Canadian collision repair service providers.

In addition, AIA Canada has adjusted the positioning of the Canadian Collision Industry Forum (CCIF) to add more resources and to build effectiveness and accountability. Better integration with AIA Canada’s events, marketing, sponsorship, and communications assets will allow CCIF to be a more effective agent for the industry.

AIA Canada continues to operate I-CAR Canada as a critical component of international collision skills and certification.

“These moves represent an important evolution to our approach to the collision repair sector,” said AIA Canada President Jean-François Champagne. “The Canadian collision landscape is huge, involving many different players, each with different interests – from insurance companies to automakers, from parts manufacturers to the shops that carry out the repairs. The Collision Repairer’s Council will put shop interests front and center.  At the same time, the broader discussion through CCIF will be amplified, with the AIA Canada Board directly receiving calls for action on common industry issues and challenges.”
