The importance of following vehicle maker recommendations

May 10, 2022

They might be called recommendations, but vehicle makers give specific service procedures that need to be followed.. Just like the service information for transmission or engine repair, manufacturers’ service procedures layout specific procedures that must be followed in the correct order. Whether or not you section a part, where you do it, and what joint type you use, needs to follow the correct procedure to ensure the safety of the vehicle is maintained in case of a subsequent accident. Some vehicle makers specifically state that some parts should not be sectioned when no procedure is available.

I-CAR Canada says that following the vehicle maker’s repair information is essential, whether it is called a recommendation or not. When it comes to sectioning, you can get the training you need to follow those manufacturers’ procedures with I-CAR Canada’s Sectioning Scenarios course.
