About this event

The 2026 Student Automotive Innovation Challenge (formerly known as Student Aftermarket Day)  returns to Georgian College’s Automotive Business School of Canada in Barrie, Ontario, bringing together students, educators, and automotive aftermarket professionals for an engaging day of learning, innovation, and career exploration. Join students from sales, marketing, automotive, and other related programs for the Student Automotive Innovation Challenge—an exciting opportunity to explore the future of the automotive aftermarket through innovation, collaboration, and career discovery. Connect with emerging talent, engage with future industry leaders, and build valuable relationships with potential employees. 

Organized in partnership with the Young Professionals in the Auto care sector (YPA) Committee and AIA Canada, the Student Automotive Innovation Challenge features inspiring industry speakers, interactive experiences, a Career Showcase, and the highly anticipated student innovation challenge, where teams present their ideas and solutions to a panel of industry judges. 

Please note: Registration for the Student Automotive Innovation Challenge is open exclusively to Automotive Business School of Canada (ABSC) students. Companies in the auto care sector are invited to participate by registering as a Career Showcase vendor. 

Become a Career Showcase Exhibitor

Applications to become a Career showcase exhibitor will open September 1, 2026.The Career Showcase provides students with the opportunity to explore careers in the automotive aftermarket by connecting directly with industry partners. Attendees can visit exhibitor booths to learn about aftermarket companies, career opportunities, post-secondary pathways, and what it’s like to build a career in the auto care industry. 

Applications to participate in the Career Showcase are open to companies across the mechanical and collision sectors of the automotive aftermarket.

How the program works

  • Members select their departure city from the drop-down menu
    1. Choose Valet or Self-Park where applicable
    2. Enter their outbound and return dates
    3. Click find your rate
    4. The rates will automatically load
    5. Print a copy of the coupon

  • When exiting the lot
    • Select form of payment
      1. Credit card
      2. Debit card
    • If they have any difficulties simply
      1. Manually enter 1120313 at the pay station and the rate will be applied
